The motor ran fine with the old controls. They were very stiff, when I investigated they had broken parts on the inside. I ordered the correct NEW controls and harness. Now I am getting nothing. Where do I start and what tools do I need? Dave

My guess is it is adjusted wrong or hooked up wrong making the neutral safety switch out of adjustment.It may be in the control box or on the linkage at the motor.When the lever is in neutral the switch should be activated.And if the wires are off it won't crank.Sorry I can't be more specific.

I have checked and double checked the connections. I am just not getting power anywhere. I quess I will need to start trouble shooting. What are the essential tools and where is the best place to start?

Not sure about this, but my cousin has a chrysler motor which the linkage got broken on and it caused his motor to go out of timing. He had to take it to a mechanic.
