Here are the run downs on the 4 options I have to get it fixed at an outboard repair shop:

1499.00 we rebuild your short block and supply and install kit with the gaskets, carb kits, impeller and tstats. You must bring in your Short block stripped of Electrical,Fuel system, and manifold. (Short block is crank, pistons, rods,&heads assembled with no "bolt-ons".)

1499.00 + 800 Drop off boat/ pick up boat running. Does not include any needed parts other than listed above. (i.e. If your starter dosent test out, you buy a starter)

789.00 Bring in bare block for boring. We supply Pistons, gaskets, rod bolts

789.00 + 120 Bring in bare block for boring. We supply Pistons, gaskets, rod bolts and Installation kit as above

I would imagine it comes with a warranty but...

Thoughts on differences between 1499 and $789 + 120.00 packages, I can't figure it out..

Should I go for the 1499 and get it all done?

if youve never torn an engine down and put one back together before id advise you have it done .... but if it was me id jump on the 798+120 but ive probably torn down and put back together a dozen different engines before so for me its like - oh here i go again.... with twos stokes it all about cleanliness and unless you have a place where you can be ABSOLUTLY SPOTLESSLY CLEAN on reassembly your better off letting them put it back together as far as taking it aprat i think anyone whos every played with legos can do that lol just take your time and bag and label EVERYTHING in seperate bags(i like the cheapo ziplocs and a sharpie)
