After looking thru the specs on this forum I've found that all the 150's are from 2000 models and later. Does anyone know where I can find the specs for my year? Or if they are pretty close to the same? Thank you in advance for any info.

My Serial number is: 6009047

Hey Fazt,

Isn't the 18? BTDC WOT timing with the "advance" module? module advances about 6? at 5000.

Would think 'bout 23? without it.

That engine has separate idle and advance modules.

1982 150 & 200 only had idle stablizers,no advance boxes the only thing in 82 with advance box was 225..

well either way i'm doing something wrong because when I adjust my max spark screw the highest I can get is about 12* btdc. Going the opposite direction I can get up to 24* atdc; I am reading this correctly right? as the flywheel spins the side of the 0* mark that hits first is btdc and reads from b to a?

Re: 1982 Black Max 150 Timing Specs?

Did you check the location of the timing pointer with a dial indicator?
Other possibilities:
Length of the link on the trigger.
Trigger harness tied down so it can't move
interference between trigger and stator mounting screws.
Damned Snap On timing light in some computer mode. (dont' ask)

hope it helps
John
