1982 evinrude 140 need help

hey guys jst got my engine to fire up after sleeping for 4 years now i cleand carbs all the connections checked pump all the things i needed to do before starting it well it ran fine idlle good took throttle good and i shut it off sat for three days and went to start it and turns over but not even a popp had a friend come over and check it out we tryed to see if it had spark and nothing can my coils die like that ?or cdi?im lost how can it run then not just like that?any help would be great thanks guys

Look for the black/yellow wires connected to the CDI units and disconnect them. These come from the motor Off on the ignition switch. Try for spark then. If you get a spark then it is possible that the ignition switch is faulty.
It is unusual for both CDI units to fail together.

plugs look wet smell of gas i dont think it could be flooded but had no spark with plugs cleand and dry

ok ill check it out tomarrow if it dont rain by me very wierd how it did that and now i have nothing?but you know more thwn me so ill try that thanks ill let you know how i make out

ok guys i found the black and yellow wire unplugged and found out i have spark so it must be the ignition ill grab a new one and go from there thanks guys
