Bought a 24 foot, '82 Grady White, 241 Cuddy, 305 V8 last Monday and hope to have it completed in about another two weeks. Putting new water pump, carb, fuel pump, tilt pump, etc, etc, etc. New carpet in cuddy and helm area. New wood trim. Repaired hole in fiberglass at near bow above water line. Hope Hurricane Ike will leave me alone so I can work on it. Here's a couple pictures. Ron

Well LX, I just read your complete thread! I think I should have read it before I bought my 1989 241 Grady Offshore I/O that has been sitting for a few years. At least I'll know who to ask for advise. Wish me luck.

Well my "money pit" has been sitting around for two years and I decided to get her back in the water. Maybe to fish or maybe to sell. (You know which one the wife wants! LoL) Got all the green algae off and am having to replace both riser/elbows, 90 degree turns and the rubber boots that joint to the Y manifold. Seems I have to check out the electrical cause I had to jump across the starter relay cause the ignition switch wouldn't work. I really believe I'm going to have to replace the old fuse panel with something more modern. Still have to finish interior of the cuddy cabin.

I know this is an old post but I did get it back in the water. Then if conked out for this and that and sat again. Sold boat in Jan 17 and then bought it back Oct 17. Doing major work that is almost finished which includes new transom, new manifold, new stringers in engine compartment, clean and paint engine compartment, replaced gimbal assembly about 90% complete at this time. If I can get motivated I can try sea trials in a couple of weeks. (Good luck with that!)
