Hello there. I'm replacing a broken plastic throttle lever on a 1982 Mercury 9.8 outboard. Does anyone know how to position the lever to the carb? I'm thinking it's critical to have the carb synchronized to the ignition timing. Thanks
Put throttle handle to lowest idle.----Install lever with just a wee bit of space between it and the throttle cam.----Test run.------That should be close unless someone has really messed it all up.
