Paint looks great! What's your mix ratio and gun setup?

Bummer on the buck...:(

Really like the way the livewell is turning out...;)

And the topper is looking great! You have definitely learned to handle a spray gun!:D

Thanks Troop, So far I like the paint. It seems to lay down nice and in areas where I had a thicker coat and was afraid of orange peal it actually settled and ended up smoother than the lighter area's. I'll have a full report after the topper is completely done.

Actually the sink is inside the baitwell you just can't see it, I've started using JAS's clamping method on this build out so we have to blame him.

Thanks Wood, I started with a half pint of paint, 30 ml reducer & 15 ml hardener, let it cook 30 mins mixing occasionally. It sprayed real well and seemed to like thicker coats rather than lighter. Where I got it a little thick it actually settled and smoothed to a glass like finish. The paint was the thickest I've ever seen almost clumpy. I had a hard time getting it through the strainer. adding the reducer made it silky smooth though and it ran through the gun with the same settings as the Valspar just fine.

Thanks Gus! It sure seems to come naturally to me these days. I'm starting to notice a lot more about the process. I'd like to thank you and Wood for getting me this far.

Re: 1982 Sylvan Bassboat project

Nothing major to report tonight. After getting 2 crowns done today I wasn't in the mood for a lot. So I went out in the garage, cranked up the heater and the tunes and spent some quality time wet sanding the topper. By the time it was ready for the next coat of paint I was done for the evening. If all goes well tomorrow I'll get the last coat on the topper tomorrow evening.

I do have some GT1M kinda luck to report though. I was mentioning to my hunting buddies dad yesterday while we were getting our deer camp gear around, that I was having a hard time finding parts for my trolling motor. He said he had just replaced his this past summer with a new one only because he didn't like the older style steering pedal. Long story short we talked about his old one a bit and come to find out its about 13 years newer but the same exact one I already had only black. (mine was white) Today I have a new to me Johnson trolling motor, for the low cost of (are you sitting down) zero!

It needs a bit of paint and clean up but I might know someone who can do that :D

Here's the proof in the shop tonight.

Sorry to hear about the buck. Must have been a big disapointment for your son.

Thanks JBC, hope all is well in your neck of the woods today. You get much snow?

Thanks Decker, only the best for this build

Yeah, my son was pretty bummed. I'm glad I raised him right that he cares about a just wounding them and not recovering em. I know it doesn't help him sleep at night right now but he's growing into a fine young man in my eyes.

Thanks Gus. Sounds like I need another trip to hang out so I can score some more goodies, lol

Ok, tonight I had very little time so you get an update without pics. I managed to get another coat on the topper tonight but also managed to brush up against it and screw up a very visible spot. So, tomorrow or Thursday I hope to sand it down and fix it. oh well, at least I have the ability to fix it and enough paint left to do the job.

Happy almost hump day all, another weekends on it's way!

Oops on the rubbing against the wet camper shell paint. Opportunity to perfect you technique  Or your blending & feathering skills...

Yeah, west of I-79 last night's weather predicted little to no snow, we got up to about 6" piled on the roof of the car & truck . Roads were a mess. Last night, they closed most of the county school systems before 7p and a state of emergency was issued before 9pm. Snow was supposed to be just above 2500ft elevation, closed a major freeway over into Maryland until 4 or 5pm tonight and Snowshoe Mtn (skiing) got 3-4ft

So yeah, got snow :( In October

Halloween will be interesting Wed pm

Looking forward to your pix proof of touch up & finished shell!

ps: GT I could use a FL vaca about now....
