1983 115 Johnson controls

Question for those who would know will the controls from a 1981 75 hp evinrude work on a 1983 115 Johnson? I think the throttle and shift linkage are the same but wasn't sure about electrical side.

Should work, they changed in '96.

Just be sure the control box has a trim switch in the handle.......

Thanks guys. I had the 1981 75 hp evinrude on boat I'm restoring but blown top cylinder picked up the 1983 115 Johnson to replace it but controls are missing internal parts and cables are very stiff to the point of being froze up on 115 I picked up. And yes they both have trim.
