Had this motor in the shop a couple of months ago for a problem with low rpm. They replaced the stator, plugs and both switch boxes. Had it out this week end for the first time. Engine idles but at a much slower speed. When you put it in gear, it will die. Not every time but just enough to make it aggravating. Engine did not do this prior to the work. You can push the button in and rev it up, bring the handle back to engage the gear shift and it will will not die but you think it is. Otherwise it runs smooth as silk. Before the work, after it was warm, you could just touch the starter and it was ready to go. Now you have to use the fast idle then shift. How can I set the idle speed up. Or what do I need to do. The dealer did not do anything to the carbs.

2nd problem, my tach does not work now. How do I check this out?

Thank you for the help.

You need the manual to adjust the idle - it's in there. Sounds like they misconnected ot blew up your rectifier when doing the "shotgun approach" electrical work.

-W
