The engine starts fine from cold every time. Once warmed up especially after a good run, dropping it into Neutral, the engine idle starts to roughen up after a few minutes and stalls. I can get it it to start if I give it some throttle, but it stalls when I put it in gear unless I shift the lever a good way forward to get the revs up quickly enough to prevent this.

Any ideas? Also how do I set the idle speed? All I can find on each carb is a big screw which seals with a tiny o ring. When removed there is a jet underneath which can be unscrewed. Does this jet have something to do with the idle speed or should it be screwed in all the way?

Also, what is the carb cleaner stuff called?

Thanks,
Paul

that should be your low speed jets and if you turn them in and seat them gently (they are easy to bend)then start by turning them out a half turn at a time till you find the sweet spot, once you get it running your setting for low rpms should be within a 1/4 turn

athertop
I think you'll find you have fixed orifice jets in your carbs and they are not adjustable.

Maybe you need to clean your carbs and rebuild them with kits.

Good luck
Steve
