Drill the rivets from the outside. It will be a quick job. I don't know if you'll be able to just lift the rear of the cap. Wouldn't removing it altogether give you better access to the stringers up in the bow anyway?

Thanks, I will go look for the right size drill bit. I'm currently storing my boat at my cousins house and the reason why I wanted to try to lift the rear end only is because of space issue's at this location.

I am currently working on the rivets and then on the transom, but had an Idea. What if I remove the splashwell, and raise the transom height and install a motor mount that will hold the motor a few inches away from the boat so I can maximize my deck space. Here are some examples I found! What would I need to purchase and install to support my 85hp force motor.

I have been using a Dremel Max with the cutting blade to cut out the floor where it meets the hull on my '94 Capri.

Adding an electric motor tilt will move the engine far enough back. One similar to the first motor mount.

Or something more like this mount or possibly even further? so when I raise my motor after leaving the water it wont even touch the very back of the boat because I was planning on removing the splashwell and raising the back middle the same height as the rest of the back.

I finished removing the stringers, drilled out all the rivets around the boat and I am able to loosen the cap and raise it a bit. I have also cut out the splashwell and the top of the transom, I was thinking about raising the transom height and leaving the splashwell out so I can install a back bench and have more deck space. Since I wont have a splashwell, what kind of motor bracket or mount will be useful? and provide space between the motor and the transom?
