1983 galaxy I/O mercruiser 2.5 litre

Ive been having problems with finding the firing order for this engine. I bought this boat used and have had problems with it the whole time. Also, i need to find a repair manual for this model. Any help would be greatly appriciated.

Not sure that merc made a 2.5 liter sterndrive. You more than likely have a 3.0 liter sterndrive. go to the adults only thread sticky at the top of the board and look up the serial # from your motor. this will point you in the right direction for the manual you need.

it has a sticker on it that says 2.5 litre. Im new to boating so would serial number off of boat work? wheres the part number on the engine?

1 3 4 2 and yes there was a 2.5 in 83. 1 being front of engine.
