1983 john 115 weak pisser

noticed the pisser was weak so i ordered an impeller off i-boats not here yet so i took apart the thermastat housing and the thermastats look okay . should water flow strong threw the pisser when on muff even if the impeller is worn?

A weak telltale can be an indication that the impeller is weak. Also, you may have debris in the telltale hose or nozzle which may affect it's flow. As long as you have the thermostat housing apart, make sure the two small pinholes are open in the valve body. I'd also repl both stats, since they are inexpensive and you already have it apart. A good appearance on a stat does not mean it won't fail tomorrow.
