I can relate about havin more time than money to spend on the boat - if it breaks I have to fix it or else stay home.

Deep Creep is not that expensive maybe you're thinking about Mercury Quickleen or something?

Anyway I'm going to respectfully disagree with hoeser....to do the decarb procedure you have to warm the motor up to operating temp - risky business in your case - you might make a bad situation unsalvagable. Plus which a decarb won't restore 70 lbs of compression, and if it does, compression of 150 and 100 will always run like crap if it runs at all.

Pull the cylinder head. Maybe the last guy did a p*ss poor job on the head gasket. Maybe the cylinder can be honed or sleeved. With compression of 150 and 30, I wouldn't even turn the key without a visual inspection of the damage.

One more thought, a longshot I know.............use your compression gauge to test another engine - any engine - your car or whatever - just in case........

good luck
