1983 johnson 7.5 kill switch

i just purchased the above motor and the kill switch on the end of the throttle doesn't work?
i hooked my DVM up and determined that the switch itself is good........what next?

Check the terminals where it's wires are attached and make certain they are tight and clean. Best of luck. Rick.
