Hey guys, I have used the forums here many times I just registered though as I have a problem that I can't seem to get. My inline will bog when you try to give it throttle above about 20%, and if I bump the choke sometimes it will help and sometimes it will make it bog even more. When I bought the boat it had a little bog, nothing that feathering the throttle wouldn't fix, but now it is way worse.
I took it out today and it started fine like always and we ran out on the lake and shut it down. I went to start it and when I put it in gear it would bog and die on me. After a couple attempts it wouldn't even start. It sounds like it isn't getting any fuel as the primer is hard and after cranking it doesn't change.
About a month ago(after I couldn't even get it to run) I replaced the water pump, impeller, the fuel pump gaskets and diaphram, all fuel lines and the fuel and water separator as well as a couple gaskets on each carb that were leaking somewhat. It seems that the hotter it gets the worse it runs as it takes off right away when I first put it in the water. I know it isn't the fuel lines or the separator as my kicker motor is connected to all of that and runs fine(thank goodness, or else it would have been a couple long trips with the electric when the 115 didn't work)
I also don't think it is anything electrical as when it goes it runs perfect and it has slowly been getting worse over the course of a year. I took the carbs apart and cleaned them as well, they looked great. The compression test last year was great with all cyls either 135 or 140.
I am at my wits end and I may take it to a mechanic tomorrow if I can't figure anything out. The worst part was that I thought the new parts would fix it but they didn't which I found out today when I took a guy out that wanted to buy the boat from me
, don't worry I have another one already lined up to take its place if I can get it fixed.
Thanks alot, and I am sorry about the book
Matt
