I have a 1983?? merc 70hp outboard ser no 6323758 model no 1070623. This motor has the "A" style trim cylinders with the pump mounted in the boat. There is a trim limit switch on the port cylinder (I think this is supposed to be on the starboard) but that is the only switch I can find. Is there a trim sender available for this unit? I am laying out the guages in the dash of a wooden boat under construction and I need to know if I can use a trim guage. I would like to if at all possible especially since a have a guage already.

Tom-- Your motor did not come with nor was it intended to have a trim indicator. One of the guys I work with made one for his 78 115hp. Works good according to him, just pricy. By the time he got thru it had cost him about 150.00 for just parts. He is a electrical genuis and a perfectionist and he spent about 3 months working on it.
