1983, V4 90 HP evinrude over heating

Also on the engine when I run it with the flush kit attached water comes out of the bottom of the cover plate between the heads?<br />Where can I get replacement parts for this engine, I live in Poway California, close to San Diego?

First, if I were you, I would get a manual for you engine or go to your local library and check out a manual - photo copy what you need. <br /><br />You will need to replace the exhaust cover gasket and water pump. I would also replace the thermostats which can be done without pulling the powerhead though a bit of a pain (I had an outboard mechanic quote me $250.00 to pull the powerhead to do this). Check the Search function on this Web site as there is all kinds of info there.<br /><br />If you run in salt water I would also pull the heads and covers and clean out all of the crud that accumulates in the water passages - new gaskets of course. You can check the condition of the rubber "thingys" in the water passages in the head while you are at it.
