If that gauge is specific for older OMC motors, it may not work for Mercs. Sometimes the older Tachs had a different sender connection for OMC and Merc.

i have decided to just by a new tach probably a teleflex ,it should tell me in the directions on where to set it thanks ,i am taking the boat out friday to make sure all is well with the lower unit thanks again for all your help everyone.
