Peanut buttering and tabbing in rear seat boxes. I used water prof glue and stainless steel screws to build boxes . I wet all wood out with resin first, glued in with peanut butter with zip lock bag with corner cut out like a pastry bag. I learned from reading on this site . i have learned so much from reading forum.

i actually started motor for 30 seconds, with fuel line in gas can as i don't want to put fuel in actual tank until I am almost done. i had to put fuel in filter and pump to get it going. i had to hook up throttle and shift cables. I was really happy that went well. I am really stoked its been along time everything apart.

I hate to say it but in 12 years of boating on Lake Erie I have never had my water pick up impeller replaced. The last time out i noticed it ran a little warmer, it didn't overheat though. I picked up a new water pump kit and decided to tackle it. A manual is a wonderful thing.

i Think the hardest part was lifting the awkward upper housing onto lower and lining up water tube and keeping in forward gear. It went well and am happy i did it instead of paying marina.

i wiped the out-drive down with acetone, sanded with 320 grit, wiped with acetone , coated with Zinc chromate primer 2 coats back to back. I hit it with black high gloss Rust-oleum 2 coats, 2 coats clear and ordered some new decals. I am going to let it dry for a couple weeks to a month before putting on boat. i am getting ready for interior upholstery work.

Thanks DRS4164 ! I recognize your patch from when i was a child and saw it with some of my fathers stuff, he served in Army in Korea from 1957 to 1959. I asked him what it meant and he said jokingly that to them it meant the 38th parallel ( the road we never crossed and the horse we never rode). I"m sure it means something else . thank you for your service.
