I purchased a 1984 40 hp Mariner no hydraulic lift. I am trying to find the correct side control box for this motor. I was told i also need a control box that is a push type. I have an old merc control but when you push the control handle forward it pulls the cable for the shift and throttle cable. This motor has brackets on the out side of the motor that the cables hooks into. I was told that this mariner is a yamaha built mariner. The side brackets to connect the cables to are the same type brackets as a 91 yamaha 40 hp motor i have.
