i have a 50 hp 1984 evinrude at w o t will only go 3000 rpm s ive check spark,compression,fuel, and rebuilt carbs and did a sink and link to now im lost on what else to check?
Two things immediately come to mind:
1. Verify your tachometer is functioning properly.
2. Are your measuring engine speed while underway? (assume so if you are going WOT) You need to check your setup to see if you are over-propped. What kind of rig are you set up on?

I went from a 17pitch prop to a 15pitch and still the same thing. The tac is brand new this is the second tac for the the rig. 15 ft crestliner 1973 stinger.!!!
Is that motor equipped with a SLOW system? I'm not sure what years that was used, but that would cause it to rev lower than recommend WOT.
Other things to check is that you still have good spark when the motor is running up to speed. Use a timing light to make sure you are getting consistent spark when running WOT.
