The pros here have advised that I may have exhaust gaskets to replace. Am I correct that the only exhaust gaskets are under the hood cover and the one at the top of the foot? I'm a fair "shadetree. Should I attempt replacing these gaskets myself. If so, would you also recommend replacing the impeller while I'm at it.

Thanks again for all of your help. I know you guys are very busy here on this site.

There is the exhaust baffle plate with two gaskets which is a rectangular shaped plate in a vertical position on the side of the powerhead, and then the gasket that the powerhead sits upon. Those are the only two that I can think of where exhaust gases could escape if that's what you're asking.

It does not require rocket science mentality to replace those gaskets. Just take your time.

If one is unsure as to the condition of the water pump, it is best to drop the lower unit, dismantle the pump, and if it is worn, replace the entire assembly.
