1984 9.8 Merc water in lower end gear oil

Just bought a 1984 9.8 merc and went to change the lower end oil and when I was draining the oil out I found there was water mixed in with the oil. I am assuming one of the seals is leaking but not sure. How big of a job is it to check the seals and replace them and what else do I need to do. Any help would be great

I would refill with fresh lube.......... run it a bit then drain the oil again & check for water. If its there again, Buy a manual it will tell you step by step what to do. Its really not that big of job.
