1984 Force 85 Lots of smoke

I have a 1984 Force 85 and it smokes alot with the smell of gas! and when i shut off the eng. i leve a slik in the water.

Test compression. Test ignition, make sure you have good spark at all plugs. Then start testing and trouble shooting the fuel system from the tank to the carbs. Let us know what you find.

compression is good. ignition, spark at all plugs are good. OK how do I test and trouble shoot the fuel system from the tank to the carbs. do you mean good gas flow. I think the carbs are out of wack! how do I adjust them. Thanks
