Re: 1984 Johnson 90hp Speed/Power Problems
No reason to go to electric fuel pump. Not advisable for many reasons. The fuel pump has diaphrams .When the puls side tears ,you often inject ALOT of fuel into the cyl flooding .So thats a good dx.if you flooding. If your positive you have good spark, comp.and you know you have gas (unless flooding due to fuel pump),you should have fire unless the plug is bad. OR,is it possible your getting water into the cyl.I have seen v-4 blocks get cracks inside the exhust cover area ,weep water, water in the cyl wont fire,.Do you see ANY rust color on the plug. You can take the fuel pump apart and inspect the diaphrams. But you will likely need to rebuild it.Often tears when taken apart.
