1984 mercruiser outdrive(pre alpha 1??)

it doesn't say alpha on it. It is for a 245 Searay and the gimbal was just replaced and when turning hard right or left there is a banging noise which I think is the u-joints. Where can I get replacements and how much? not my boat, its a 1984

Ayuh,....

1984 would be an Alpha 1,.....
Not that it really matters,...
The U-joints,+ Input shafts are pretty much All the Same anyways.....

any auto parts store ask for GM automatic transmission drive line u joints.

That would get you several hundred different kinds that wouldn't work.
