I picked up another toy this week, this one is promising. 84 Glastron with a 90hp Merc. Floors were re-done, and the motor is in surprisingly nice condition. The attached video is from today when I tested it the tank. Idled great, water pump showed the tell-tale, etc. When I increased the throttle, there was a "Click" noise. I'm not familiar with the motor itself, so I'm just not sure if it's normal or not. If you want to skip to the noise it's around the 0:50 mark. Need to get myself a manual for this thing. I've been running a 1968 Merc 500 for many years now, never heard anything like that so it's a bit alarming. Thanks in advance.

The video is set to private so no one can watch it hence no replies? I can't see it. Maybe its just me.

I updated the video, sorry. I've since replaced the plugs and the motor seems to be running a little better each time out. I do still hear the "knock" every now and then though, even in the water.... especially at lower speeds. Seems to really chug a lot of gas.

I also learned from the previous owner that the motor was serviced top to bottom by a merc dealer at a cost of about 800.00, but it sat mostly unused for the better part of two years. They did claim that it was properly wintered. I have another post regarding a wire that is disconnected in the motor. A merc repair shop emailed me stating that it might belong to a temperature sensor (if the motor has one.)
