It may be time for an overhaul of the trim cylinder. Can you push the motor down or pull it up?

no sir i can not move it up and down. there is not a leak on any of the cylinders either. when i fill it up with tilt and trim oil does it need to be trimmed all the way up or down

You understand that it is not possible for the motor to stay tilted beyond the reach of the two trim rams while underway? It's only designed for about 15 degrees of trim.

Have you filled the reservoir and checked for air in the system?

Are the trim rams pitted?

How much of the boating season is left where you live?

I agree with ezeke. Fill the trim reservoir and trim the motor up and down like 10 times then check the reservoir again. If this dosnt work then its time for a trim rebuild.

You raise the motor and support it with the trail locks, then remove the fill plug and fill it until the fluid runs out.

Then replace the plug and tighten it and then release the trail locks. Cycle the motor up and down several times.

Repeat the whole process several times until no more fluid can be added.

Have the rig on level ground.

If that does not work, put a thrust rod in the holes in the stern brackets in the position that will allow you to cruise comfortably until the season ends and you can worK on the PT&T at your leisure.
