1985 115 lower unit merc

Looking for answers speedometer tube out of lower unit where does it exit the motor to the boat ? I’ve looked many different drawing on exhaust leg am I blind ?

Your gearcase may not have one. Look on the leading edge of the gearcase, below the antiventilation plate, and above the "bullet" nose. It is a small hole. Gearcases w/o speedo pickups will be solid.

Thanks! I have 74,115 merc with cam shift and have a rebuilt 85 lower unit easy shift, what can I do to make this work? Is that what the shift adaptor is for ? Enlightenment is needed here
