While fishing this past weekend, this engine
suddenly wouldn't start (repowered with only 30 hrs on it). I was in the middle of
an inlet drifting for fluke. Thankfully the owner of a boat 50 yards away from me was a mechanic. He lifted the engine cover and located a plug on the bottom near the 2nd cylinder (if your facing the front of the engine - the plug was located towards the bottom right/rear). Anyway, he got the engine running within several minutes. He showed me plug, and since I assumed it was the only plug in the area- the shape of the plug wasn't etched in my mind. He did mention that this plug connected to all the spark plug/coils?, and that I should coat the connection with di-electrical gel to assure better connectivity. (perhaps there was some corrosion or the plug was loose?) Anyway, I wanted to take his advice. Yesterday I went down to the boat to service the engine. In that area (back/rear near 2nd cylinder) there where
2 plugs/connectors - 1 was square, the second seemed like it was rubber encased and round. Which one is the correct one? I tried
pulling the rubber one and it didn't come apart. Do I need to twist and pull? Thanks for your help.

Not sure about getting the plug apart, but as to which one to do? Do them all. All the electrical plugs will benefit from dielectric grease.
