I might be getting a bass boat with this motor on it (1985 Mariner 150hp)...its in good running condition and has a stainless prop. My question is how hard are these larger outboards to work on. To this day, the largest motor I have worked on is a 25hp.

Also, is there a rep for this motor, or age of motors. Are they noted as good or bad motors?

thanks

Matt

The fact that it's almost 25 and still runs well should be some type of testament to there toughness. The larger engine is quite a lot more complex but with a manual you should be able to handle the repairs, after all they are just nut' and bolts and work on the same design principals.
