I cannot pull the powerhead on my 175 merc. Removed all bolts and unhooked everything won't budge. Removed two nuts in front, two on each side in rear (4 in rear) 2 on each side on exhaust/lower case. All where nuts on studs. (10 nuts total) Am I missing something?

Could be the gasket is holding it on, have had a few (saltwater boats) where the corrosion around those studs held better than the nuts did.
Usually (when lifting with a hoist) I just put some tension on the hoist and rock the chain back and forth and they usually pop loose. Sometimes with a lot of corrosion, you have to use a torch to heat the housing around the studs (while rocking the engine).

Tryed hanging it and using a rubber mallet and sharp putty knife on the gasket. I'll give heat a try.

Do the studs on the side of the lower end run all the way into the power head or are there just 6 studs total holding it.This way I'll know if I have to heat those too, their already unbolted.

Thanks Mike

Clean those holes out completely and paint them. Then when you put the PH back on, put grease on those studs, then if you ever have to pull it off againg it will be easy.
