1985 30hp Johnson same as 1987?

I found a shop manual on ebay for a 1987 30hp johnson and I have a 1985 model from what I have learned here, the last three letters are coa, anyway my question is when did they change things, will the 1987 work for me, thanks in advance, steve

they are the same

Steering bracket and tiller arm are different. Everything else should be identical.
