1985 7.5 gamefisher

i baught a game fisher motor but it is missing the information tag.
Is there any way i can still find out the info for this motor?

I would try posting a picture, with any information you have on it, along with what information you are looking for.

i know its a sears gamefisher,7.5 hp,2 stroke, most likely a 1985,and i found a number 266078-2 but dont know what it mean.

A number of builder sold motors to Sears.
I think it resembles a Force motor but Force didn't make a 7.5 in 85.
It may be a later motor but still don't know if there was a 7.5.
Does it have a through hub exhaust?
Mercury had a through hub but doesn't resemble your gearcase.
It appears Force never had a 7.5.
Chrysler had a 8 that they may have sold as a 7.5 but Chrysler was white
isn't likely they painted black for Sears.Someone more helpful may be along.

i dont know that my motor is defenitly a 85 thats just what the seller told me

Isn't that the information tag in the picture? On the transome bracket?

no the information tag is ripped off

i called the previous owner and he told me that force made the motor
