Hi all!
Last September I picked up a vintage 1965 Loanstar Commander that came with a 9.8 110. Apparently the outboard had sat for about 5 years and was in unknown condition. I was able to get it started and do a single full throttle run for about 30 seconds. When I stopped I I was getting exhaust out the tell tail... Yup gasket failure. I finally got around to pulling it apart and now that I have it half way disassembled I'm wondering if I should replace the rings. How difficult it disassembling the power head? is there any other common failure parts I should replace? I should have checked the compression before I started but the pull start and the short power run felt good so it never crossed my mind. If new rings are in order is there a good tutorial out there?
Thank you
Justin
