LOL, next summer she'll say, "We need a bigger boat".:)

I love this boat because it only needs less than a foot of water to dock. and I can almost pick it up. Pretty basic and good looking.
Once you get her fixed up, she'll look after you

Oh man, don't tell me YOU were married to her, too!

I spent 5 years on the ICW in FL with a badly rotted Chapparal. Now I'm stuck in Ohio with a badly rotted Bayliner (yes, badly rotted Bayliner is redundant). Man, I miss my Chapparal. I gave it away because of the rot, but the engine was *perfect*.

This boat does not have a "keyhole" transom, where the engine mounts to one side, and the outdrive is bolted to the other side. Looks to me like the motor bolts to the outdrive, via a rubber shroud that fits around the whole thing like a condom. The transom is a large, oval hole with a rubber boot. That's gotta make my life easier, right?

I have often heard that the 2nd best day in your life is the day you buy your boat. The 1st best day is when you sell it.

I'm just asking because the day I bought my boat was the worse day in my life.

It's gotta be all uphill (uphull?) from here. Thank you all for welcoming me to rotted wood land, and resin fumes land. Man, it better get me high, because it's EXPENSIVE.

Ok, HELP.

I wish this was about fiberglass, stringers and epoxy, but my boat is grounded by PAPERWORK!

The title was signed over on a very rainy evening, in the middle of nowhere, 250 miles from home.

Now I find out that you can not buy or sell a boat in Ohio without a Notary Public watching the whole thing with BOTH parties present!!

I am SO screwed.

Can anyone help???

Bonus: This boat has been sold at least THREE times without being registered. The last registered owner has long since shrugged off this mortal coil. From the stickers, that's around 2008. Dammit, this boat is almost in the water! I can't believe this!!! I can't get my boat wet because of red tape :(

Ok, my wonderful wife pulled a lot of strings and got all the paperwork. We're on a small, private lake, which required even MORE paperwork, stickers, insurance and stuff.

On the day of launch, we borrowed a friend with a BIG pick-up truck to back the trailer/boat down the short driveway into the water. That's when the rusty S-clamp on the boat winch snapped, and the Capri basically launched itself into the lake, almost pulling me in with it - as I was holding tightly to the bow rope.

A full tune-up, and a quick lookover by the boat mechanic had my confidence up, and the boat started as soon as I turned the key. And we were off!!

2nd day out, just off the dock there was a horrible whine from the stern drive, and we were dead in the water. Motor runs great, outdrive is toast.
