Yep, I'm in the group of people doing a bayliner resto.. mines a 96 so proof that age isn't everything... neglected boats rot fast.

I found there wasn't much disturbing stuff when demoing my boat. So it's true they get a littler undeserved hate. Regardless, I love the look of my boat so I took the dive... I'm lucky in that they used mercruiser power plants in my era.

if you love what your boat "COULD BE" then go for it

Another Bayliner restoration guy here - 1988 Capri 1700 in my case.

Agree 100% on being in love with the look of these boats. I was an impressionable pre-teen when they came out; maybe that played a part.

one of the things i have always thought was smart was having the mirrors on them, never understood why boats didn't have mirrors like cars
