So going to rebuild the 1996 88 special and have gotten a hold of a good 1985 cross flow block. (my 1996 block had a small break at the exhaust so had to scrap it, still have it). My question is my 1996 bypass covers have the nipple for the bypass hoses but the 85 block covers dont. Plus the front half of the old 96 crankcase has one nipple on the starboard side while the 85 front half doesnt. So considering there are four nipples coming off my 96 intake manifold which I planned on using how do I route the bypass hoses? Could I use the 96 bypass covers? This would still leave me with one missing nipple in the front crankcase. I know I cant use my 96 front half on the 85 rear half, right?
