Hello;

I am considering buying a 1985 CC Scorpion 168 (unseen yet). Does anyone have a (scanned) brouchure on a 1984-1985 of this model? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks.

Go to the Chris Craft site and find the contact email for customer support. They sent me some scanned images for my 178 a few years ago. They might have something for your boat.

Hi,

I've got that exact boat if there's anything you'd like to know about it specifically. I love it, it's a fantastic lake boat. Mine is powered by a 3.8 GM engine with an OMC Stringer 800. I've heard a bunch of bad things about those outdrives, but no complaints from me after my third 9 month season down here in Georgia. There are several Chris Craft boats from that generation down here, I've seen a couple 85's recently with Merc powertrains.

Good luck with that boat!

I just bought a 1988 168 scorpion and trailer. The hull and engine and drive seem to be fine. It's the 140 merc engine... she purrs. Needs a boot. Needs a few odds and ends. Can anybody direct me on this boot business? The floor has a couple bad spots. May put that off a couple years. Need the seats redone. Read somewhere that these have laminate issues? This hull looks great. Paid 1000.... so I guess I'm ok. I happened up on it. The guy said he had 15 calls in a day. He wasn't lying.... cause I met a guy that showed up right after I bought it.

We'll see what the final cost will be...

I love the retro look.
