1985 evinrude 25hp

Been using boat for a while and everything was perfect took it out all day shut it off to go swimming and when I turned back on it started to go perfect then out of nowhere started acting up. Carb looked clean replaced all the fuel lines not sure what else to check, maybe bad gas? Just filled it up that day.

Try pumping the primer ball when that is happening.

I tried that couldn’t really pump it to much it was to hard, it’s perfect at idle and going slow only when I try to get into it that happens

It should not be hard while it is running.

I did clean the carb do you think the float maybe got stuck causing the primer ball to stay hard?

Check the float valve underneath. Newer kits contain a wire hook to make sure the needle comes up with the float, opening the valve for more fuel.
