1985 Evinrude 50HP fuel primer non operational

As stated, fuel pressure is present but the solenoid will not open. When priming the bulb it gets hard as a rock. So much I have relieve it with the red level on the solenoid. It's a friends craft and going to check the white wire for switched 12v later today. If power is present it must either be ground (which is doubtful) or the solenoid is faulty. Would love a diagram on the fuel system for this motor. Thoughts?

Those solenoids came out on 1980.----Basically remained the same for 25 years.---Very simple / very reliable.-----Does solenoid valve click when you apply 12 volts to the terminal ?
