I have a 1985 50hp Evinrude M.N.E50TLCOB, S.N.
J0542957. I have the SELOC book for that year but I need to rebuild the carbs, and the carbs on my motor look nothing like the ones in the book.
Do i have the wrong book? What carb kit do i need? Any help will be a life saver.

Thanks Don

Re: 1985 Evinrude

Can't offer any opinion on the seloc manual being the wrong book as I have the Clymer manual for those engines... The Clymer manual has served me well in the past through a few carb rebuilds, but the actual OMC service manual is the best...

As for the carb kit... Head for your local OMC dealer with your engines model number and they'll take it from there and supply you with the correct carb kit... :)

No choke linkage is correct.. It has a primer soleniod instead...

The Clymer manual has exploded views very similar to the ones on the link along with full directions for servicing your carb... ;)
