i'm in the processes of replacing the floor and transom. so i'm going to be asking a lot of questions lol. first one is they sprayed foam to the side of the boat then it looks like they sprayed a light layer of glass over it. do i need to take all of it of or just up a few inches to glass the floor back in? then how do i repair what i take out?

Hmm, not really. If you're not finding any wet foam and you're all the way to the bottom of the hull that IS a bit strange. Have you core sampled the stringers/ transom yet?

the stringers are dry in this part of the hull. it looks like from floor down in transom area is soft.all the flooring is like dry rotted, and its only 3/8 thick? o and i found a large next of carpenter ants under the full tank going to pull motor today and drill out 4000 rivets lol. i live in michigan and i don't have a heated garage. trying to get
all ready for when it warms up

what do i seal the bottom of the ply wood with before i put it back in? my plan is to have a ll pieces fit and ready to go as soon as the weather warms back up

Core sample the foam..use a piece of thin walled pipe like a metal sink tail piece and twist it down to the hull through the foam...check if it's wet...do it in a few spots. Since your drilling out rivets I take it you're pulling the cap... build a cradle to support hull before removing cap....take and record measurements of the hull along the gunnels where you can so you can keep the shape of the hull while you remove all the structure.

Wouldn't worry about sealing the bottom of the deck now....you have a lot of work before that part ;) (You will be covering both sides of your deck with glass and resin)

Looks like your on a bunk trailer...yes you can add support under the outer chines of the boat. You don't need to really lift it off the trailer just take some weight off the trailer... take some 2x4's and build some small walls under the chines along the outside of the hull on both sides...add bracing from wall to wall so they don't roll left to right..No need to reinstall the cap...just be sure to take some measurements before pulling cap and then check them again when the cap is removed...if it flexes you need to adjust the support on the hull until you get the measurement back to original spec.

As WOG mentioned you will need to drill into your stringers and core sample those too.....wet or damp wood shavings are no good....dry clean white is good....you can fill the holes with 3M 5200 if all is good

ok now that the holidays are over back to work on the boat.first question is on the cradle. do i need to build the walls from the floor up or just lift boat slightly with the cradle with the walls sitting on the trailer ? i have seen it both ways i do have a pretty large are to work in if it would be better to do it from floor up.

IMO the floor is a better bet being it's solid.....on the trailer it will still bounce around on the leaf springs and tires as you're up in the boat moving around working.

update. been a while, i gutted the boat took cap off cleaned every thing out. put cap back on took to local fiberglass place to have all the work done. this was in sep.2015. they keep boat till spring of 2016. my son was getting married in july, so didnt do any thing to boat it was all shrink wrapped. well i finaly got some time to work on putting new rub rail and prepping for new motor. moving around in boat floor sounds hollow? so i drill a small hole in floor under seat, NO FOAM? DO I TAKE BACK AND HAVE THEM FILL IT WITH FOAM? payed 2800.00 to have stringers and floor and transon replaced, and says foam filled on bill. but not a drop in the boat. WHAT WOULD YOU DO?
