Hello, Motor runs fine at idle, but when I give it throttle the motor just boggs down and will not go any faster. I found that if I wire the butterfly flaps(2) to the carbs 2/3 of the way closed, she picks up and hauls ***, but then runs really rough at idle that way. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thank you...

Re: 1985 Force125 Carb. Question

I don't understand what you mean by wiring the butterflys 2/3 closed. Have you disconnected the throttle cam and are you leaving the carbs set in one position?

At any rate, It really sounds like you need to synchronize timing and throttle opening.

For example: If the timing link is broken and timing is not advancing with throttle opening, the engine will bog down as the carbs are opened.

I strongly recommend that you buy a manual or at least borrow one from your local library and perform the synchronizing.
