i have had a problem about 3-4 years ago with the fuel pump and replaced it and it has been fine ,, today was out and it started acting goofy again it sputters and runs out of gas, prime it and it goes for a bit again could the fuel pump be bad so soon and is the a easy way to check if it's working properly ... i tryed replaceing the fuel line to make sure that its not that and it still does it ...

benny ,
if it was a carb problem i don't think it would run good for a short time tell it runs out of gas ,, when it sputters if you sqeeze the primer it picks up again for a short time again ,,, could it be the antisifine valve on the tank causing this problem ?

It could be the antisiphon valve, the tank vent, the fuel hoses, or the fuel pump. The key is that you said it fixes itself when you pump the primer bulb.

thanks to you and benny for any help and i for got to mention that i was low on oil when this all began thus it would run for a bit try to die pump the bulb it would run some more and it doesn't mater weather at a slow speed or up crusing it runs good for a bit then trys to die then the beep alarm would come on i would shut it down for a minuite and fire it again no beeper and it will do it all again run good for a little and act like it runs out of gas sqeze the bulb and run good for a bit again and then the beeper again which i thought was low oil but it was the beep everyother second but it had a little oil so i just thought it was low... anyway today it is full of oil and about the same runs for a bit like it should then trys to die sqeeze the primer ok again for a bit i can keep it running that way but after a couple of minuites the evryother second beed is heard so i shut it down .... pulled the cover off the front to see carbs its a little oily but i think that normal nothing apears to be leaking .. i havn't done a flow check as of yet on the oil or gas what to check first

well i have checked to see if there is any problem with the oil up to the pump seems clear as well as fuel line i took the top line off the fuel pump and used a longer hose to see if fuel was getting out there was fuel there when i pulled the hose off and put a loger hose on for testing fuel comes out when primer is sqeezed but no fuel when fired ? bad pump maybe ????? i had replaced the pump 2-3 years ago i would think they would last longer than that ??? but if i primed it the motor runs for a bit befor having how can this be .. i would like to figure this out with out taking it in to the mechnic tuesday but running out of ideas

one other thing guys when the motor would die the primer wasn't pumped up it felt like it hadn't been fully primed and a couple of sqeezes would be enough for it to build presser and it fires again ,,, thank you for all and any advice guys
