Re: 1985 Johnson 175 VRO Primer Solenoid Hose Routing Question
A parts list diagram will help you understand the components. Actual routings of the hoses is not as important as the proper hookup. I'd look at the Bombardier website: epc.brp.com. Your engine's parts lists are there. Look at two diagrams for your year/model: the VRO pump and the intake manifold. The feed hose to the primer solenoid starts at the fuel manifold to the solenoid. The solenoid has two outlet barbs for three carbs. The diagram shows a special tee to split one of the two lines, so that you wind up with three feed hoses, one for each carb. These feed lines connect to a small brass nipple a the top of each carb. None of these hoses are the special formed type-they are sold in bulk at your dealer. I'd be careful when trying to put the hoses on that small plastic tee, it is really delicate. A small dab of some type of lubricant may help the hoses slip on easier.
