How many turns out for the Oil Pump setting on a 1985 40hp Johnson?

The screws on the carbs to regulate the oil flow?

Upon dis-assembly, one was about 3/4 out. The other about 1 1/4.

Actually the plan is to bypass the oil pump and run premix. Just want the screws set to factory since just cleaned the carbs.

Thanks.

To my knowledge there is no adjustment on the carbs for oil flow. Some carbs had low speed adjustments on the carbs.
What screw are to turning, I didn't see any adjustments on the carb that I looked at. What is your model number.

Model J4OTLERE

This guy here.

The jet feeds under the plastic cover. It was loaded with oil, under the cover, so I thought it might be the oil adjustment.

Idle Jet, eh?

Those Are Idle Jets. This one needed to be set at 2+ turns out to run at the lower speeds.

Oil Pump Delete was successful thanks to the "Top Secret VRO" sticky.:)

Still seems to run a little rough. Probably due to the 120psi & 130psi compression. And it's a twin that's had a very hard life!

BTW, the boat is an 85. The motor is a 94. Once again, thanks to the parts look up sticky.

I think we're on the water!;)
