1985 johnson 6...no go?

last week i replaced the base gasket on a 1985 johnson 6hp. barrel tested it, worked as good as new. motor sat horizontally for a week. planned on a fishing trip early tomorrow morning, so just to be sure of the motor , put it in the barrel again. it would only run on full choke at first, then it wont run at all. strong spark, 105 psi on both cyls, what could be the issue ?

Was it laying outside when horizontal? Could have gotten water in it if so. Sounds like a carb/fuel issue.

kept in the basement...no water. the day wasnt lost tho. johnson jw-21 saved the day! have the 1985 6 running well now, found a fuel leak at the line on the carb nipple. the motor is still a bit cranky when cold ( barrel running) , but when its warmed up it purrs. ( it did run like that before the non starting issue tho). thanks for the reply beek!!
