1985 Johnson wont idle

I have a 1985 Johnson 50hp that wont idle. Starts great if I choke it but dies at idle. It runs great in gear. I noticed it has a small fuel leak in hose fitting at motor. Could it just be sucking air there causing this problem? Thanks for your help.

You should repair any fuel leaks before you start to trouble shoot your engine. Have you checked the idle speed, 700-750 in the water in gear.
